I have also had my strop slip (thankfully without the damage you descirbed) which made me wonder, why hang the strop at all? Can't I just lay it on a flat surface and work it as if it were a paddle strop?

It hurts bad enough just hearing the original posters story, and then you have to rip all my nails out with pliers telling this story?

What kind of a sadist are you anyways?

Yea and just think if the Livi was your razor.
No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

If your landlord doesn't like added holes in the walls:
    • make a loop from para-cord (or similar) and loop it over a doorknob for your hanging strop
    • use a paddle strop
