Thread: How often do you shave?

I shave every other day or sometimes every third day. If I have to shave two days in a row, I only do a quick bass on the sides and neck and leave the whole font of my face so my skin can have another day to get ready for the razor. I get a closer shave that way.

I enjoy shaving very, very much. It's almost nerdy but I don't care! Those who think I'm a freak don't know what they're missing out on! This, obviously, goes to my Gillette extreme fusion power with batteries friends!
I shave every day from monday to friday. I often shave on saturdays but I tend to skip it... on sundays I allow my face to rest. I did an experiment some time ago and this is the best way for me not to have razor burn. I shaved every day for 15 days and my face was a bit tender after that. So sundays are resting days. But I can get away with 1 or 2 days growth. I just happen to go against the habit of looking scruffy and informal that is usual with my generation. You either have a beard or a mustache or you don't... no intermediate stages for me, please (unless I'm growing something on my face... but that's different )!Last edited by fpessanha; 11-17-2008 at 03:16 AM.

If you are getting irritation so bad that you can't shave 2 days in a row-you ARE doing something wrong. Either your technique needs improvement or your razors simply aren't sharp enough. This is ESPECIALLY true if you can't stand the pain and stop mid shave
Shaving with a Str8 should IMPROVE you skins condition-compared to shaving with multi-blade disposables or an (gasp) ELECTRIC
NO more ingrown hairs!
I have a very heavy beard and get a 5 o'clock shadow at 3 o'clock,so I have to shave everyday or look like I NEED TO! Seriously, once you get your technique down pat and keep your razors VERY sharp-there is no need to suffer.

I shave every day, and allways at night when I get home from work, I'm allways cowered in dirt and sawdust, when I get home, and I think its a great cleansing to take a shover and a straight shave, before I join the family for dinner.

Everyday. I do sport a moustache and gotee cause the wife likes it but as my skills increase they will go so I can master those areas and spend even more time shaving.

for my beard, sundays, tuesdays and thursdays. i know it sounds a little strange but this is how i planned it. there are 7 days in a week so you can't go with the every other day thing and keep a weekly schedule, so i skip mondays, wednesday, and friday saturday because i have lots of time on sunday to really get a great shave so that extra days growth is nice to work with. my beard really doesn't grow that quickly so even when i did try shaving two days in a row, the irritation wasn't bad but there wasn't really any hair there. i do get a bit impatient with my beard though as i have recently started trying honing, so i really have to wait for the test shaves. i really shouldn't complain though i guess.

I shave once a week, as I have slow, even growing facial hair. I never get irritation, surprisingly! I look at shaving as a fun, relaxing thing to do on a Thursday night before going home for the weekend to see the lady ;]
