Welcome aboard! I don't think there's really much left to add...these guys are quick!
I think Mike can answer for himself, but I wasn't aware of starter kits from him. I know that he sells $40 Wapis. I've seen starter kits from Kenrup and The Topher.

Thanked: 16Hi Dan
Welcome to SRP
I have just bought a razor in the BST thread here on site including postage from the USA it was about £28 I have gotten 4 razors though the members here and all have been excellent buys, I bought a 4 sided paddle from Tony Miller (vendors corner) which he will paste for you.
I have to be honest and say I bought my first razor and double sided hanging strop off e-bay for about £25 I just hit lucky it turned out to be a not bad razor and I’m still using the strop.
Also have a look at this thread http://straightrazorpalace.com/showthread.php?t=20027 and send Glen a pm to go on the list but it could be a long list by now.

Thanked: 1Hi Dan
I actually went into Taylors of Old Bond Street about a month ago to browse their razors. They have a LOT more in the shop itself than on the website. It's like an Aladdin's Cave of shaving gear.
It was a very nice experience going there and talking to the guy about straight razors and a few feet away at the back of the shop there were other customers in the old style barbers chairs getting straight shaves. Very cool.
Anyway, the razor I bought from there was just about sharp enough to shave with (for me) although certainly not as sharp as a professionally honed razor.

Yeah looked at his site and it doesn't appear that he sells kits.

Thanked: 2Thanks for the replies. It'll take a few days to sift through all the info and I am awaiting a response from Kenrup. I was in the bathroom earlier and looking at my Wilkensons Sword Quattro and thinking how I cannot wait to get rid of it. I'll still have to shave with it for the time being, but I do look forward to dispensing with it.
As for Taylors--I am surprised that they don't list their full stock on the internet. I don't understand why companies do that. I'd love to visit there for real but I'm not getting a train down to London.
I'll keep my eyes peeled on the B/S/T thread. It would be wise to start with a cheaper option than the Taylor blade just because I want to learn how to hone and strop and I am bound to balls it up. Screwing up something £50 or under is one thing, screwing something that's £100+ is quite another!
Thanks for the links

Thanked: 2Just to keep you updated Kenrup replied and I am going to order a starter kit from him. It looks perfect. It's cheap, effective and a great way to learn.
Right now, I have to go shave with my Quattro but soon! Soooooooooon!
