Thanked: 12I prefer both. I like Carbon because it's easy to hone, I like stainless because they tend to stay sharp longer and resist rust. (my travel razor is stainless).

I like old razors pre 1920 I don't think they had Stainless then. The old ones are easy to put a good edge on with a 4000 / 8000 Norton.

I've always preferred the edge I can get with carbon.

the steel doesn't matter to me much, the razor does.

Carbon steel for me too.
