Thanked: 5Yes, the scales are broken at the one of the pins on the other side.
Add two more razors to the list, for a total of six. That should keep me busy for a while. These were all ebay purchases, and I should be receiving the first, and probably the others next week. The seller of the W&B took a whole week to put it in the mail, which will be reflected in feedback once the razor arrives. Here's what I've bought so far:
Wade & Butcher Straight Razor and case - eBay (item 230268708859 end time Jul-13-08 07:10:24 PDT)
vintage straight razor 'OUR VERY BEST' J.S.HOLLER&Co - eBay (item 130239737253 end time Jul-24-08 17:18:32 PDT)
George Wostenholm & Son's Celebrated Whisker Razor 13 - eBay (item 110272367295 end time Jul-24-08 19:33:21 PDT)
LOT OF 3 VINTAGE STRAIGHT RAZORS - eBay (item 170240894584 end time Jul-24-08 10:13:34 PDT)
I need to purchase some straight razor guides, so I can determine the age. My razor buying criteria for now is this: made in England/Germany/US/rest of Europe, cheap, slightly beat up, and interesting looking.

Thanked: 5I had several packages on my desk when I returned from lunch. Five of my razors arrived. I'm going to work on cleaning them up, then take a few pics.

scales
Those look like silver inlays on the scales. Probably at least doubles the value of the razor.
I'd keep 'em.
