    Default FNG Introduction

    Hello,

For a while now, I've wanted to start collecting straight razors; well, I've finally started. Here's my first purchase, a Wade & Butcher:

It needs new scales, which I'll tackle; not sure what I want to use, though. Will I shave with it? Probably not right away. I have a beard, so there's not much to shave except my neckline. I guess my focus right now, is collecting and restoring/refurbishing.

    Thanks for the informative site,

    c_kyle.

Ooo, that thing is too beautiful to let collect dust. Surely you can find something to shave

Welcome to SRP and have fun with your new razor!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm resisting the urge to comb ebay as I type; I'm already feeling the addiction. OK, I'm making a rule:

No more than $50 per month spent on razors.

So, with my remaining $30, I can either source some nice handle material, or buy another razor.

so are the scales broken? that would be the only reason i would swap those scales out... bug bites i would sand a little so there are no sharp edges and then polish the scales and blade, hone it and use in health!
    Be just and fear not.
