    Its probably the best stone to learn on with minimal investment be sure to get it lapped or get the lapping stone with it! Good luck!

    That's a bummer. It may take you some practice though. If the chip is small (you can't see it) I'd probably pick a coticule instead. However the Norton is the standard pick.
