Thanked: 2quick question about razors
Hello to you all I am totally new to all of this so bear with me please. I found this site when looking for a way to sharpen a razor I got off Ebay. I really wish I would have found it sooner but live and learn right. Any way I bought a Selective brand (yep from Pakistan) razor and strop because I want to shave with a straight razor. I realize now that was a waste of money even if it was only $5.00. My question to all of you is this. How does a guy on a very limited income get a good razor so he can shave. I do not want to sell one of my children to pay for a razor and honestly after looking at some of the sites out there I will never have a Dovo or some of the other high end razors. I do not know enough about them yet to chance a vintage razor off ebay as if it needed work I am not sure I could do it and that would be another wasted investment. I want to thank you all in advance for any help you offer.

I second that! You are in great hands on this site! That was indeed a great gesture of kindness on the part of "Hi bud gl". For his kindness, I will reciprocate and send you a 3 month old "DOVO" strop for free including shipping fees if you PM me with your address. This is a description of what I'll send you if you accept.
DOVO Hanging Razor Strop - Rindleder (Cowhide)
This hanging razor strop is 1-3/4" Wide x 16" with a nickel plated handle and swivel Hook. It is made of beautifully finished leather but with no canvas on the back and has a 13" usable stropping area. This is the perfect "starter strop" or a great second strop for use with pastes.
Made in Solingen, Germany.
Best regards, and wish you the best of luck in your straight razor shaving!
