I live in Lempäälä, a neighbourhood of Tampere and 95 km from Riihimäki.
Oh yeah, sauna is a really good prep. It's a little bit slow but if I want to take an extra long and relaxing shave I warm up the sauna and shave after that. Much more easier to get BBS (even with cartridges) when skin is completely heated and bristles so soft than they can ever be. One benefit of sauna and löyly ( new finnish word for you, might already know that, hot steam) is that skin heat stays a longer time than with hot towels.

and greetings from Helsinki! Lempäälä and Tampere region is nice; I used to live in Tampere myself, but had to move south. Too bad we don't even have snow here. Better reduce the load on athmosphere by not using cartridge razors, and we might have an actual winter again.

Sauna & good shave sure go together well... helped me soften my piano wire grade whiskers even today. I can't wait to get to shave outdoors in the summertime after a proper sauna, not a heretical substitute heated by electricity!
