Blade width is a personal thing. I prefer "smaller" blades because I can move them easier around my goatee. I do not think that there is a big difference between 5/8 and 6/8 and I have read that if the steel is stiff, there is virtually no difference. I also have a limited number of blades. Most people recommend the size they own but not many have the same razor in both sizes... ;-) Carbon or stainless only matter if you hone your razors. Finally, the classified section is a good place to buy shave ready razors in all sizes.
