just get a real straight and dont worry about changing blades
and get a great shave

You'd actually be surprised. My shavette is part of my rotation since DE blade brands are all different. If I'm feeling a certain DE blade instead of my regular straights, I go for it. The shave is the same either way.
Just switch brands instead of corking. I didn't like the feathers either. True, they're sharp as a woman's tongue, but that can be painful
Pick up a sampler pack of DE blades and I'm sure you'll find a brand that feels right on the first shave
