This morning I shaved with a razor whose name I have forgotten. It's a little wedge with yellow plastic handles. I used some lemon smelling pirate's cove soap that Al sent my way, a cheapo Chinese brush, my Tony Miller strop and a hot shower.
I also videotaped the shave for posterity's sake, but I got the camera angle wrong on the tripod and ended up making a video for posterior's sake
Also I finished with cold water and aftershaveFind me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

You could make a thread about fixing mistakes. I mean when I first started I cut the hell out of my face & neck. I did a thread called Give It Time!!!. Read it and also try and come and chat in the chat room. The only way to get better is to shave and ask questions. You can also read the wiki, that is loaded with great tips and information on shaving. Just because a thread is mostly pic's of others shaving stuff, doesn't mean You can't ask a question about it. You could also PM one of the members to ask for hints/helps/tips what ever... I hope this helps you out, If not... Just ask any questions you have.

[quote=mlangstr;314611]Well when I was posting this thread about a SOTD for newbee's I was actually looking for things that newbs do wrong so I could get better shaves by learning from others mistakes. These things are mostly the small things that dont make it to questions in seperate threads..
This is exactly the reason I wanted to do it. I too post in the normal SOTD forum. Lost my intimidation quickly, but I've found that often the veterans' replies to common questions are often "look around in the threads". After a couple months of more hours than I care to admit reading threads, I'm still turned on to or stumble upon new helpful ones every day. I wanted to set up a newbie to newbie place where we can help each other out with exactly what we are experiencing and learning as we go through the process and learn from seach other's mistakes.
As you said- SOTD is not an efficient place to ask questions. Seems like it's a polarizing issue for some reason. The newbies seem to like it, but it makes the vets uncomfortable for some reason. No offense meant.
