i have been shaving with mine for 3 months and finally put it on the hone today and i have a pretty tough beard

It's really a personal thing. I think it's different for everyone. When your blade doesn't shave you as well it's time. Your razor will tell you. I guess some blades hold there edge better than others. Some folks seem to have magic blades that last for months. It also depends on how often you use that razor. If you have 40 or 50 razors and keep 7-10 in rotation, it could be a while.....
