First Shave
I would first like to thank all who contribute the these forums and wikis. Thank you for your time and efforts to help the beginners and pass on your knowledge.
I have already been labeled by my wife as addicted to wet shaving. She see that I browse these forums for reviews, advice, and the classified for a good amount of time at night. I have spent a great deal of time reading about razors, strops, hones, techniques, and tricks. I then decided to take the plunge.
I must say that I'm quite surprised at the difference between using shaving cream from a can and a manufactured razor to using a badger brush, glycerin soap, and a straight. I have a cleaner, closer shave and better looking skin, and there is a nice awakening aroma to boot.
Here is a picture of my setup, small I know, but surely to grow in the future.
Aveda aftershave balm - recommended by my brother
C.O. Bigelow - Picked up at Bath and Body works, while looking for some bay rum aftersave
Crabtree and Evelyn - Pure brush and stand (The best brush is only available in the $150 kit)
J.A. Henckels - Number 50? - This razor needs some work
Chelsea's Soap Garden Bay Rum Shaving Soap
King Razor - Shave ready from the classifieds - Excellent shaver
Strop is in the mail.
I look forward contributing to the forums and spending more time reading and collecting.

Welcome to SRP ! Nice to see a fellow who does the footwork and gets outstanding results. Nice setup you have there.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Welcome to the forum!
You've got a great little set up there. I think it's very decadent to have a seperate basin for each razor! It'll be even better once that strop arrives.

Welcome to SRP!
I'm sure you'll feel at home here!
Ask questions, lots of questions, make silly comments, get RAD, HAD, SAD and all the other ADs out there and then come here to show off and feel bad about spending so much money with something as trivial as this. You'll find great company who do just the same!
