Welcome MrPomp,
It's great to be excited about the new gear but make sure you are calm cool and collected before you take the blade to your face. It sounds like you are probably as ready as you can be if you have been reading up here on the forums. What kind of grease do you use on your do? I'm a Murray's man myself, the heavy stuff in the orange can, good lift, strong hold, and it takes three or four days to wash out!

As a fellow n00b, I know exactly how you feel.
I was a bit impatient my first go, but I'm looking forward to take 2 tomorrow.
I'm still totally psyched and glad I'm not alone!

Thanks again for the encouragement guys... Pomp pics will be on shortly I just literally got out of the Barbers chair. to answer the Grease Question... I've used the Murray's and yes it does take forever to wash out haha... I use High Life Pomade's Voodoo Brew... it's tinted a dark purple so i don't get the White flakes in my shiny black pomp and has a great coconut scent like Black and White. I do keep the pomp shorter than I would like as i am a "professional" I use the term very loose as I see so many supposed "Professionals" these days that I don't really know what the term implies any more.
6 days and i'll be holding that sweet sweet steel in my hands!!! It's only a Chinook flight to baghdad then a plane ride to Amman Jordan, then a Plane ride to the States away from being reality haha...

Welcome dude. I too am waiting for my Dovo square point with ebony handle! I feel your excitement (oo er), although I already own a Wapi (my first straight). You are a daring man for starting with a spike point. Good luck, and remember to watch those ears

I sometimes rock the Black & White, but I'm not a committed pomp by any standard.
