The Wait is killing ME!!!
Alright.. I have always wanted to shave with a Straight and now i'm just finishing up a 1 year deployment (non-mil). So i thought i'd have a nice little present waiting on me when i got home... A Dovo 5/8 Spike Point with Ebenholz Scales and everything else i would need to get into straight shaving. 7 days and i'll be home.... 7 days and i'll see my very own new Shave ready Dovo. I've been reading like a mad man on this forum and the wiki and i'm getting excited as hell.wish me luck and any additional tips and tricks would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!

I've been living in the US for the past 4 months and will
be going home for the first time on Wednesday.
I haven't had a straight razor shave for that long as well...

Welcome, Mr. Pomp
Tell me about it. I'm watching the mailbox for my Dubl Duck and Wapi to return from refurbishing as well as my new Rooney brush. At least my shaving products have arrived from TGQ otherwise I might lose it completely!

Thanks for all the encouragement and the links to some great reading... i'm definitly going to take the slow approach and just shave a small portion for starters... i'm pretty confident i won't maim myself.
