    I vote for helping him out as well. I would probably let him use your razor and the strop, but the soap and brush might be a bit too much too quick. Let him try shaving with the gel first or maybe just suggest he use soap instead of the shaving gel the first time. That way you can get a feel for whether he likes it or not before getting the soap and brush.

    At least he knows that he can come ask you questions anytime. I wish I had someone that could show me in real life how to do all this stuff I am trying to learn. Especially knowing what "shave ready" really means.

    Yeah, I think I'll do that. I'll get one of my inexpensive ones honed (I had one in the car and should have thrown it in the box I sent out to Max today but was in a rush and forgot). and let him use that practice strop. I'll recommend he buy his own brush. all of this of course if he is interested.
