Thanked: 156So glad this didn't turn into a SS v. Carbon debate. :P
Go with SRP. I email Lynn fairly often and he's always so nice. You can't go wrong. Buy the shavemacs, they're on sale.

I have the SRD 3" Red Latigo strop and I heartily endorse it. It has great draw. Also, SRD sells replacement leather in case there is a stropping mishap.

Thanked: 4Good points. I bought a brush online, I'll post a review when I get it/try it. I'll let you all know.
I saw your post about the GP scuttle, and that's pretty much how I knew I wanted one, so thanks for that. I'll get there eventually.
As far as the premium, I had thought about the possibility of nicking it, but we'll see. I might get the standard and then later, when I improve, get the better strop. I mean, it seems to me that this stuff is like Lay's potato chips... who can have just one?
I've got a lot to consider, but at the moment this decision is the worst of my problems, so life is good The wife said I could spend around 300 on shaving gear, but what she doesn't know is you've all already got me hooked and I haven't put blade to face yet.

I love my scuttle but it is an add on and not something you need off the bat (good for fathers day, birthday, ect) I just used a mug and a heavy soup bowl mug thing for awhile. Most of the time I face lather so really all I need is a puck of soap but the scuttle is hella cool.
