That's exactly what keeps me on these forums all day. Even if I'm not posting much I still love to see how supportive these guys can be. I've been trying to show the same kind of support for other new guys like myself. I definitely feel I've learned a great deal in just a week.

Congrats and welcome to SRP! It sounds like you're on the right track and have a few great razors to start with. Keep at it, it only gets better!

Congratulations on you first shave and your new razors.

I also went from a shavette to a real straight and the shaves where a lot more comfortable.... but the razors where not a lot sharper though.. I used feather blades in them and they are scary sharp..

I sometimes still use the shavette and now I can get pretty good shaves with it as well but I will have to concentrate really hard not to make mistakes. It will bite..

I loooooove my 11/16 W&B. This thing is so ungodly sharp I don't think I'll ever wind up spending Dovo money on a SR. I'll just keep buying great vintage razors and trying them out.
