Congrats TheOctopus! Don't listen to the voices from the peanut gallery. If they want to set the rules, let them host their own giveaway.

Do you hear me, Eric and Oldengaerde? Time to host your own giveaway and set that claim of 'forum spirit' into precedent setting action.

GWH's giveaway, GWH's rules. No sour grapes.

    X

PS Can you believe I just defended you GWH!

I didn't mean to start trouble and next time I will do it through PM only.
I'm sorry it turned out this way, wasn't what I had planned

NOW I'm signing off before I get myself or anyone else in trouble
I like to stir the pot just a little too much

I would like to apologize to octopus, and the hunter. I did not mean for this to get out of hand. Only wanted to see if maybe another newbie with limited funds and not a clue where to start could get started in the right direction. I commend the hunter for his giving and I am sorry for sounding like an @$$. Not my intention.

I am a newbie myself and this forum has helped me tremendously as I continue to learn ...

Again. Man to man My apologies.

--edit: below was written before reading post 19 and lower --

Nownow, gentlemen, no need not to be polite.

The0ctopus (sorry btw for misspelling your name, I didn't notice the zero at first - my bad!) is the clear winner, and Gratewhitehuntr reconfirmed this, so it is all up to The0ctopus: he can accept and enjoy the razor (and don't let this small difference in points of view take anything from that enjoyment!) or he can retract (out of free will and in good spirit!) and ask to have it offered to someone else.

Either way: please let's not make this a sour business for everyone - The0ctopus for feeling unduely criticized, Erictski for being rebuked, other newbies for not winning and Gratewhitehuntr for seeing his generous offer decline into a unappetizing dispute.

On the contrary, we should all be happy: it is a mighty fine gesture to give away this razor, it is marvellous luck to be the recipient and it is a reason for pride to be part of a forum where this kind of things happen, even more so as it happens so often that it can get us into this kind of awkward discussions!

If I imparted even a hint of the contrary, I offer my sincere apologies! And now I'll shut up, for as I said, this isn't really my business at all...

I'm a newb to SRP (long time B&B and SRP lurker though)

I'm currently using a Merkur HD DE and I'd really like to try straight.

    I'll pay for your shipping
