Hey Octo,
Looks good, but if I'd say anything looks liek you're still putting quite a bit of pressure on the blade when you do the sides of your jaw (tho this could just be me) also you might want to try stretching the skin even when you're doing XTG / WTG passes. it will help get BBS shaves.
You should look on the wiki I think there's a post showing the basic grips for the razor you might want to check out so you can stabilize that blade before you give yourself a nasty cut.
Anyhow that's my 2 cents,
Keep up the practice!

Thanked: 416You can cut down like half your shaving time by simply learning what strokes come next, with what grip, and in what direction. There is no need to flash the blade around like a butterfly knife.[/QUOTE]
Yep just a matter of time before you cut off something important if your not careful. Slow down think it out and don't be afraid to use the right a little to help as you go.

Thanked: 132This one definately made me nervous to watch. lol
I shave with both hands and once the razor is in the hand, it doesnt leave it until the one side is done. Lynn's video tells about the importance of keeping the razor/hands dry...i still think your awesome for putting yourself out there on video.
Thanks Man!

Thanked: 271Speaking solely for myself, I could never get a close shave without stretching in the opposite direction of the razor, i.e., up when I'm shaving down, down when I'm shaving up, etc. I always stretch. In addition to not getting a close shave, especially on the jaw line, where I pull the skin above the jaw line, I would cut myself or at least irritate the skin. I see that you didn't cut yourself or irritate the skin so, from my point of view, it should have been a terrible shave.

Don't you be worried about "funny grips". Figure out what works best for you. If it works for you, then it is correct for you. I do concur with the water and lather on your grip hand, though. It makes holding the razor difficult.

First of all, congrats on getting a successful ambidextrous shave on video.
I have to admit, I almost yelped when you were positioning the razor from 0:38 to 0:47. That's exactly how I got the only real cut I've ever had.
Until the blade placement becomes second nature, I'd recommend doing any of that "figuring out where to put the blade" stuff with it at least an inch or so off of your face. It shouldn't be anywhere near your skin until you're making some decisive forward movement.

Thanked: 234once you're more comfortable with your grips looks to me like you will be there more or less.
I'm a great fan of the japanese grip when I got ATG, it's really useful, how ever going WTG it would be a bit unweildy for me, scales all over the show. Stretching really helps get close, every little helps!
Lookin good anyway.
