Welcome to SRP. You might look in the telephone book and call around to barber shops listed and ask if they do a whole shave with a straight razor. I know in the shop two doors down from where I work they do a pass with a shavette an then go over it with some kind of electric clipper. If you do get into straight razor shaving I think you will find it that best way to shave.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

As an inexpensive way to try it out, you might buy yourself a shavette or a feather. If you find it isn't for you, toss it and you haven't lost much. You might also pick up an inexpensive razor from Ebay, have it honed for around $20.00 and if you don't like it, you can probably resell it on Ebay or on to one of our members, provided it's a good one. A work of warning: Don't buy a Zeepke or anything made in Pakistan. That would turn you off to straight razors real fast! Research the forums for good razors. To have it honed, there are lots of good honemeisters in the forums. Check out Utopian's offer. I won't speak for him, but he worth sending a PM. And welcome to the site.
