Unfortunately that was a bid that I lost. However, I will continue to peruse eBay for oldie vintage blades.
The other night I purchased a Master USA $10 blade. Fooled by the price. I quickly requested the seller to refund my purchase, which he did.
The item apparently still shipped and the seller said "if it arrives, merry Christmas!"
a new letter opener!

Welcome to SRP Salisbury! You have a Mawson, S & Sons, Sheffield, England razor there if I'm not mistaken. The handle looks to be possibly bone or bakelite. But most blades from Sheffield are quality shavers. If you get her cleaned and honed, you'll be quite happy with her! If you need any help getting her honed, Utopian is a good guy to do it! Welcome, and if you have any questions, you can pm me also! I'd be happy to try and answer any questions you may have! Were all in this "Brotherhood" together!

+1 to Gugi. The other benefit with getting a razor that is honed properly is that you will not be "guessing" if it is honed correctly when you shave with it. If you look around the classifieds and shops there are some very good razors for sale at decent prices. In any case once you get the bug you will be on Ebay all the time... RAD can be all consuming!
Good luck, have fun and ask questions.

Gugi and tdgrunt are totally correct. Getting a razor that is truly shave ready is the most invaluable thing a new straight razor shaver can acquire. Lets you know what sharp really is and, when you inevitably start sharpening up flea market/ebay/etc acquisitions you know what you're aiming for.
