If a newb is buying something, people can chip in their two cents, if a newb or anyone for that matter is selling something, it is forbidden, because then they're like how much is this worth? Okay... and goes and sells it for at least that. Thats my impression at least.

I am a newbie and I'm looking at something (which isn't mine yet) asking for help because I haven't got a clue. I understand there are those who take any advantage they can because money is the god they trust, not the case here. I still believe people to be innocent until proven guilty. If someone is guilty shut him down but if I can help someone no matter how big or small I will.

So is this something you're considering purchasing? Can you take some pics and post them here to view? If you can provide whatever markings the items have (manufacturers, models, region, etc.) it would help.
Coincidentally, I thought I had a great razor find at a local antique store. Nice yellow scales with emblems that read "Florida Barber College" -- unfortunately the blade was rusted beyond belief (spine and tang were in good shape, though) and the owner was asking too much. The blade itself was made by Fromm. Not sure if Fromm provided razors to other barber colleges but thought it would be worth noting.

Well, your really not supposed to discuss price here. We're not a valuation service and at the same time we want to help rookies out but the problem is there is no real way to tell the difference. Some other sites have people who join specifically to get something valuated and then never post again.
So if you want to discuss price you need to keep the discussion about generalities and the price shouldn't be the main thrust of the post but more ancillary to the subject at hand.

Thanked: 3795So, as Randy asked, is this an established rule that is written down somewhere, or is it a general unwritten practice? If it's the former, could you please provide a link?
