It may also help if you remember to stretch the skin taut. Keep in mind, when going WTG or XTG you stretch with your fingers behind the blade's path. When going ATG, you stretch with your fingers in front of the blade's path. And yes, mind the fingertips!

Fair enough mate! Maybe they could do less with better technique & prep.

From my experience as a newb this "Stuck" feeling happens in two ways. One, it has met a bristle that was not cut quite flush with the wtg pass, and is holding the blades. A *tiny* bit of pressure will cut it and you can move on. This sounds like what is happening to you. The other kind of stuck is it will feel exactly the same, but with a wierd sensation, not pain but something quite indescribable. This is the razor cutting you, and continuing will leave you with quite the gash. This is how I recieved almost all my cuts. You can tell the difference between a cut and stuck, I just can't describe it. A lot of my cuts were this ATG "stuck" business. but if you feel it happen and stop, you'll just have a hairline red spot that styptic takes care of and it heals in a day.

I'll second what Lynn said, though as usual, there probably isn't any point in that!
