When I had a chance to do a little updating on the bathroom I shave in, I chose a "gooseneck" sort of faucet design, which comes up about 8 inches from the base of the sink and makes a U-turn, going back down only 2 inches. Leaves a good 6 inches of clearance, plus I fill the sink with hot water and rinse by swishing the blade in it.

Gotta watch those faucets, they eat razors.

Does anyone think that it would be safer to remove the lather from your razor by the hand (like barbers in Turkey do). I have seen a motion where it looks like people will slide the blade on the palm (near the thumb) then rinse your hand?

Faucets are why I wipe the lather off on a towel. No need to get the blade wet.

Thanked: 3795I do a modification of that. I pinch the blade at the heel between thumb and forefinger and then slide them to the toe to clear off the blade. Then I rinse my fingers in the sink or wipe on a towel. I haven't dinged a finger yet!

don't worry about some people looses fingers some ears etc etc you are very lucky end up nick on the blade. Metal isn't a big problem to fix.

the damage is very hard to see but you can see it when light reflects off at a certain angle. But the damage is more like a burr... Regardless, I have never had razor burn like that before. I took a break from shaving today and my face is peeling all over just like after a sunburn...
