You would need to wipe leading with the spine (like a stropping motion) to avoid getting cut.

Personally, I'd rather watch my razor with some risk of dinging vs. some risk of cutting my other hand...

The other reason I like to rinse the razor is I like the metal hot when I shave.

I use a piece of tissue paper and wipe it on that. seems to do the trick for me. I dont like getting my digits near the edge. Very easy to get "bitten"

Well, I have a lot of options here. I will see what works best. My sink is small and there is not much room to rinse. I will give both methods, wiping or rinsing, because there seems to be pros-and-cons for both and see what works best for me and the sink that I have.

I will not take my eyes off of the edge! That is for sure...
