its all about what you like I started with a spike and had no real issues. Just be careful and watch the point around you nose and ears and you will be fine. any razor will cut you ifr you don't respect it.

While true, don't forget about the point on your cheeks either. The only trouble I had was when I was not shaving my cheeks, but wasn't minding the spike near my cheeks. It will dig in if you aren't careful.
