Naniwa. That being said I use Shapton Ceramic Stones and love them. I go thru 16K then diamond on balsa, Cro on leather, and finish on a plain leather strop.

Here's the thing. There are many finisher's out there. Some are expensive, Nakayama, Escher, Shapton, to name a few. The Chinese 12k is by far the least expensive. The Naniwa is a great hone. To quote Lynn, "You can really dial it in". The thing is, How much money do you want to spend? If your sure your gonna be doing this for some time, make the investment and buy the Naniwa. If not, get the C12k it's cheaper.

Personally I like J-nats but of the choices you have listed ask yourself "what would Lynn use" ?
Oh I agree, the J-nats will be what I get eventually, but for my first stone, I think I would like to avoid the cost of the J-nat stones

Once I get the experience, AND the money, I will certainly be going that direction tho hehe
