Thanked: 21Anyone else fine with just one so-so pass every morning
I'm still new to the art but find I like just one pass each morning. The results are of course not as good as 2 or 3 passes but my face likes it and my wife doesn't mind the stubble in the evening. Plus 2 or 3 passes eats up almost 25 minutes each morning and I personally like to stick to ~10-15 minutes.

I could get by with one pass but I love the warm lather on the brush coming out of the scuttle for the second pass. I only need two passes and where it took me 25 minutes early on now I can do two passes in 15 minutes shaving in a leisurely manner.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

My feeling is, if it's smooth with the grain and there is no noticeable stubble then it's good. Anything beyond just prolongs the time you look smooth and is icing on the cake.

Thanked: 53I usually shave in the evening so I can take my time. One WTG and one ATG is close enough so that I'm still presentably smooth in the morning.

+1 I shave in the evening to take my time, which mostly works. I'm good till the next evening and then some. If I'm going to do it I'm going to do it right and to the best of my ability. I do understand some going for a quick shave and that's fine if that's you thing. It's just not for me.

this is very good point . i think with less hair Razor shaves very easy and you completely avoid any razor burns etc. that is why some people do use every day shave.

Thanked: 259i myself am not looking for speed, i am looking forward to enjoying a nice luxurious time shaving, i always set aside time to enjoy and to get a great shave. trying to get finished fast is not my idea of a great shave. straight shaving is to be savored like fine wine.

To be honest it depends on the standards. For work, one pass will, to all appearances, shave me clean for ~12 hours. So, it's acceptable because no one will be rubbing my face for me.
Though, in preparation for other settings, a complete shave would be the requirement.
As in all things, sometimes we shave for ourselves and sometimes for others;
sometimes because we want to and sometimes because we have to.
cheers!
