    Default honing pyramid

    i've seen the short segment of lynn's honing pyramid with an 4/8k norton. i have a 12k naniwa also. so,,,,when i go to the 12k should i use a similar pyramid with the 8k norton and 12k naniwa? thanks

    Lynn will be the best person to answer your question . I would say don't mix up 2 different stones. they cut differently etc.

    Until Lynn gets here I would say that the way I understand and follow the method is to set the bevel on a coarse stone if necessary. Pyramid on the 4k/8k and then if further polishing of the edge is desired go to a higher grit stone.

    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    My recommendation would be that after you do the pyramid on the 4/8K, to do 10-15 strokes on the 12K and paste if you use it and on to the strop or just head for the strop and a test shave.
