    Default Yet another newbie

    Hi all,

after shaving with DE razors for the last 5 years, I finally had the guts to shave with a SR last weekend. My first SR is a probably mid-19th century French frameback that happens to shave very nicely and quietly.

I have just bought an old stock Japanese-made Western-style hollow-ground straight to add some variety to the shaving experience... once I'm done cleaning it, of course.

I've been lurking for about a week before joining in, soaking information... I think I'll fit right in

    Michael

Welcome to SRP and good luck with the restore.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

A good link that might help you get started with your restore, if you haven't seen it:

Welcome to SRP. Hope the restore goes well. We want to see pics when it's done.

I still have a few weeks before starting the restore, the blade is in Japan and will come to Germany through relatives... maybe I should get an old German razor to practice
