Here's a really nice starter set. I have this Dovo razor (but I upgraded to ebony scales, but I'd say stick with the basic one for your first razor, you'll learn what you like after you've been shaving for awhile).

Thanked: 0I only buy the lower price soaps or creams and I ask for the more expensive ones for Christmas or birthday.

BHChieftain, when I said...
Forget it! No one here, all hundreds or thousands of us, has saved a dime or will save a dime.
You said...
And, I thought...
This guy needs counseling...
But, then you said...
And, I thought...
Maybe his counseling sessions won't be too many...
And, you finished by saying...
And, after finishing laughing, I thought...
This guy is alright! Temporary self-delusion for self-respect purposes, followed by rationality, although mixed with a healthy dose of denial, accompanied I am sure by a heady sense of total control over actions, which though untrue, leaving yourself in a state of pleasure and contentment with life. I'm going to try that.

A great starter razor is Dovo. As long as your not too fussy about the scales, or handles, they can be had for less than 100.00 Straight Razor Designs has the best prices on the net, and 10% off right now, plus it'll be honed by Lynn. You know it'll be ready to go. Then you can work on your technique. You'll need a strop, and some soap or shave cream. SRD has great strops, but you will pay for the quality. Someone mentioned Kenrup, or ruprazor. He's has great, affordable beginner strops. Welcome to the forum....
