No one is trying to judge you, but when you say ebay is loaded with tarnished junk, it shows that you don't know as much as you think you do.
MOST of the "tarnished junk" that you see on ebay can EASILY be cleaned up, transformind it into a GREAT razor!
Just keep an eye on the classifieds, even go through ALL the pages, because there are some cheaper good razors on there that you could use as your first razor.
