Flying Strop
Hi all,
I have been extremely busy, thus I have not had time to frequent SRP as much as I did in the summer. It is nice to have time to read posts again....
I had an incident that did not result in strop slicing, but it could have ended in disaster. I have a TM artisan that I attached to the doorknob of my closet by using the doorknob hanger that comes with Tony's practice strop. I was stopping merrily when in mid stroke my strop flew off the door knob.
Nothing happened except for an adrenaline rush. No harm done.
What shall I do?
Thanks.....

I used to attach my strops to the hinge pin on the door where it sticks out a bit. That would happen all the time to me and I never damaged a strop. Now I elevate the hinge pin a couple inches and it works fine and never flies off. There are three door hinges so I'm not concerned about the door becoming unstable.

I took one of those little plant hanging brass hooks and just found a spot under a cabinet to screw it in. I just hang my strop from there and go!!!

I use the toilet paper holder, its a firmly fixed, funky chrome job, and has a stub that sticks out to one side about an inch, I loop my strops d ring on it, position my strop slighty at an angle to keep it from slipping off, and away I go!
The little chrome hook would be my choice, and I plan to fit one, because everytime I get ready to strop, my wife seems to need the toilet...lol
