Default new to group, have a razor im curious about

i have recently decided to take up using a straight razor, a friend came across an old fredrick reynolds razor, with the barbers notch. the engraving is neat considering the times. it says e plurubis eunim. more to the razor, i am wondering if a fredrick reynolds is a reasonable starter razor. any info would help, and am also looking for a honemeister close to my area in the eastern panhandle of wv

That a cool statement, I think it means although there are many, this is the one! But I not a true translater.

Check out services on SRP. Lynn the founder of SRP does honing and is the highest man on the honing totem pole. He honed all of my shave ready new razors.

I'm no honemeister, but I'd be glad to give it a shot for you if you like. I live over near Hagerstown, MD. Just shoot me a PM if you want. No charge of course, just take care of shipping.

Welcome to SRP and the wonderful world of shaving with straight razors. Reynolds made a fine razor. Here is the SRP Wiki if you haven't been there already with loads of tutorials on shaving and maintenance of straight razors.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That looks like Latin. Well, not really Latin. Maybe Latin with a lot of typos. "Plurubis" is "pluribus", making "e(x) pluribus" "out of many". Could you check if "eunim" is something like "unum"?

    Translating E PLURIBUS UNUM

The general meaning of each Latin word is clear:
Pluribus is related to the English word: "plural."
Unum is related to the English word: "unit."

E Pluribus Unum describes an action: Many uniting into one. An accurate translation of the motto is "Out of many, one" – a phrase that elegantly captures the symbolism on the shield.
