Thanked: 293Based on Chayes' link below I would also say that my razor in the classifieds is genuine Ivory. It has a grain in it, that can be seen by the naked eye.
Let me know if you're interested.

I have a frameback with ivory scales. They are slightly yellow with age, but came out beautifully after I polished them to mirror finish. No cracks or chips and perfect condition for age, they are about 130 yrs old on an Engstrom!
PM if interested, otherwise Ill hone the bad boy up and house it with the rest of my ivories...

Thanked: 6I'll be shaving with it later this morning
Had my eye on it for a while. Should compliment my ebony Dovo nicely on my sink.
For those interested there are some good guides on identifying synthetic vs natural ivory vs bone etc.

Thanked: 137Please swear to us that you won't be listening to, singing, or thinking about the horrible Lionel Richie song that that sentence brings to mind...
I have a frameback with ivory scales which I haven't shaved with yet (bought it from the classifieds ages ago, it failed my arm hair test with lather, so sent it off to be honed - it's apparently a right bugger to hone, so it's taking a while). You can find ivory scales in the classifieds if you're willing to wait and keep an eye out. Alternatively, you could buy a non-ivory scaled razor then send it off to someone from the classifieds for a rescale with mammoth ivory or similar (just as nice and you know that that stuff hasn't been poached from anywhere).

There's always This one at Vintage Blades. My wife would appreciate it if you bought it.
