i wouldn't buy it myself, and would suggest getting something that is good to go.

I agree with Ivan too, For a first razor, I don't think you want a unique fixer upper. It's a good price, and not a bad project razor, but for someone with experience...Spend a few more bucks and get something shave ready. You'll be happier..Honestly, if it's in your budget, Go to Straight Razor Designs, Talk to Don and get yourself an entry level Dovo. Lynn will hone it for you, and you'll be a happy clean shaven guy....

Thanks so much for the information guys! I don't think I'm going to get that one, I saw the nicks on the edge and thought that I should probably refer it to you dudes. I picked up a Norton 4/8X water stone today at Lee Valley, it's been highly reccomended (I know that there's other stones that people are using now, but Norton is what was available so it's what I went with) I have some other coarser stones for taking out nicks and such though.
I'm currently looking at this razor on the classifieds,I'd like to get it when I get back from my conference this weekend. let me know what you think. It comes shave ready, is german - made (which I understand is good) and looks nice. Let me know what you think guys.

I've got a Double Arrow and I love it. Very reasonable price and after one of the gentlemen here got it ready for me (honing) I haven't noticed a drop in the shave quality over the 20-30 shaves I've had with it. (daily stropping of course)

I also agree with that. From those pictures it doesn't look good to go and, as gugi suggests, you're better of with a blade that is.
