    It is rather simple, was the Dovo seal still on the razor coffin???
    if it was then the razor is NOT shave ready...

    If it was "honed" there should be a little tag on the coffin saying something like "This razor has been professionally honed please do not strop before your first shave"

    Factory sharpened and "honed to shave ready" are two totally different levels of sharpness...

    If it was honed then all the hints about prep and angle above are what you should follow, if it wasn't you need to get it honed ...
