    Default What is a weeper?

Guess thats a simple question. What is a weeper?

I'm wondering because I seem to have a few bumps (not acne or really even visible preshave) that must be a little higher than skin level. Every once in a while I'll have what feels like a nice smooth pass but it seems as if I've cut the tops off of these bumps. There are a few very small little spots of blood. Is this a weeper? If not what could it be? Anyone else have this issue? I don't have this problem every time I shave but every couple of shaves. Its pretty annoying.

    Any help for the newb?

IME weepers show up as pinhead sized drops of blood. Whether cutting through high spots or how they come up is unknown to me. I used to get them with DE blades once in awhile, particularly with a new Feather blade. I rarely suffer from them with straights. Check your edge under magnification and see if there might be any micro chipping. Also maybe try a bit of chrom ox to smooth out the edge.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

+1 A light, little, round blood spot - kind of like you'd get from cutting off a small pimple/zit, versus linear nick or slice.

I had the same question once, too.

+1 to JimmyHAD's tip on using the CrO, if you have it. Otherwise, just make sure your stropping technique is good and do a few more laps on the leather. Then use a lighter touch when you shave. I found that a good stropping and a really light touch can avoid these little dots of blood.

Definitely true for newbies. I thought I was using light pressure, then I used less, then even less. One you get the right pressure you'll finish your shave with no irritation and a really smooth face and have that AHA! moment.

A weeper is what we become after we tally up what we spent on shaving gear for the past year-Har Har.
