If you want to risk getting infected with something nasty, then you will want to clean the blade after every shave.
Sage advice. Also blood will rust the edge. Forget Hollywood

lol yeah i think that was more of a father son battle prep kinda thing. i don't mess around with blood. I'm sufficiently paranoid about blood after taking the test to get my blood parasites certificate from the red cross that allows me to work in tattoo shops, its probably expired but i don't need it anymore.

What would you have been doing in tattoo shops ? Inquiring minds want to know.

i was an apprenticing piercer for about a year, before i decided alabama does not quite have enough customers to support a family or myself. i dont regret it tho, probably the most inspiring time of my life being surrounded by that much art every day at work.....good times

I've been tattooing professionally twenty years. Never got into the piercing as that was before my time and not 'my thing' but I respect it.

I do not believe that I have seen mention of a strop yet. Do you have one?

i made a practice strop out of some leather i had left over from making medieval armor for a friend. i don't yet fully grasp the quality of leather needed to make a good strop. so i will probably be browsing for a proper one. what is the difference in quality between strops is it just the grit or a certain roughness that make a strop good?

Not ot derail, but I would not have suspected that from what I have read of your posts. Admittedly I am newer to the forum than my join date would imply.
Working on the design for my next addition right now. Though it took me 9 years to finalize my first one. Better to be sure than regret I suppose though
