    Glad its going well!

The really key thing is to brace SWMBO for the inevitable influx of eBay purchases, hones, Dremels...

    Default Razor Fever

Straight Razor Shaving and all that goes with it can become an addiction. There are so many pieces. Not just the straight razor but a good brush, or maybe an antique brush, now then maybe a badger silvertip.. Then the shave soap.. maybe I should try a different scent... how about those creams... this one lathers better... this one claims better cushion and this one great razor glyde! Preshave oils and creams, after shave liquids and balms, strops and razors. In the begining you don't seem to have enough of anything. You may want to sharpen your own razor eventually and now you need hones... It just goes on and on... isn't it great!!

Have fun ... you can go as slow or as fast as you want.

It's great to have a cheap ebay, flea market or estate sale razor to practice stropping with and eventually honing or restoration...

    Welcome to SRP

What you need is an alternative place to receive your packages...... and deep pockets.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I hope you didn't initially believe you would be saving money by going the straight razor route. I can buy the "save the environment" rationalization, but not monetary savings...

Ahhh, women...lovely creatures. After years of selfishly sharing my plans and deliberations for future purchases, and repeatedly seeing just how upset they could become over these matters, I came to realize just how uncaring I had been and if I truly cared, I would shield them from the associated stresses and just go get the damned thing myself without a word spoken. Why with all the purchases they have to make, they have enough to worry about without throwing my concerns in the mix.

If you love her, don't say a word, just go buy that razor!!!

Too true. I think that is the biggest myth about DE or straight razor shaving. I, personally, don't know anyone who has come remotely close to saving money.

    Does anyone?
