Thanked: 1185Am I OCD!!!???
So I never noticed this before the other day. I was watching a you tube video of Lynn Abrams shaving with a straight (in case you didn't know it, this guy is a straight razor God walking among meer mortals.) Anyway, the more I watched this video the more I got crawling skin and kind of a nervous unsettled feeling in general. Definitely not his technique or delivery Lynn's a hell of a nice guy and a great teacher of the art but then it occurred to me, I get the same kind of feeling watching Mantic's videos and a few others on you tube. It really began to bother me and I thought long and hard about what might be the source of my discomfort. Then it hit me. These guys on youtube are ALL wearing shirts when they shave. I don't know how anyone does that and in fact the sight of someone doing it bothers me a little. From my earliest days of pretending I had whiskers and shaving with my Dad's gear, I've NEVER (no, not even in the military) been able to shave with a shirt on (not even a wife beater or a t-shirt.) I've heard that some women have similar reactions to men coming to bed with their socks on. Does anyone else share my psychosis (that is willing to admit it) or am I just totally weird or something?
The older I get, the better I was

You know funny you mention it for two reasons. First I had the same reaction the first time I watched Lynn shave on his DVD. Second because in the rare occasions where I would shave with a T-shirt on I would have lather and water all down the front of my shirt.
After over two years of shaving with a straight razor I've recently started shaving with cold water. So I am not doing it when I'm just done with a shower and in the buff. I shave with a T-shirt on oftentimes and guess what .... 99% of the time I don't get the shirt wet. I still take my socks off when I climb into the sack though.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I never had a problem watching Lynn shave with his shirt on. If you watch the dvd closely he did get some lather on his shirt at one point, but not enough to really make a diifference.
As for me...I prefer to shave without a shirt of any kind. I splash too much water and smear too much lather on my face to wear a shirt.

Thanked: 993Definatley no socks in bed. I think it looks a little odd if you're walking around, touting your stuff, and all you've got on is a pair of black dress socks. Check out on you tube, Flight of the Concords, "Business time"

No shaving in a shirt either.
Here's what my girlfriend says about me (and I thank her for it): "You don't have OCD, you're just very particular"
Works for me,
Maxi.

I think it's highly likely that they are shaving with their shirts on not out of strange habit, but for consideration for their audience. You know, thousands of people watching videos of naked middle-aged men shaving... it should probably be done after dinner!
Of course I'm only joking, no offense to Lynn or Mark.
