Dovo Micarta Inox help...
I have been using my new Dovo Black Micarta Inox for a week now. I noticed yesterday that the blade was misaligned with the scales. At first, the blade was perfectly centered within the scales. Now it slightly rubs against the side of the scale. I noticed this on a wooden handled razor in the past which was easliy corrected with a twist of the blade, but the Micarta handles are pretty thick. I have not torqued or dropped this razor. Any help or suggestions?
Thanks in advanceLast edited by Buckfever4life; 05-17-2010 at 11:42 AM.

Thanked: 1903From the FAQ: "If you believe that a product or service you received does not match its standard, you should always try to settle the issue with the vendor. SRP cannot - and will not - interfere in contractual matters between our members and third parties, including but not limited to vendors."

Thanks for the info BeBerlin, I am not complaining about the razor or which company I purchased it from. I remember reading about the same thing happening in another Thread, but I am unable to locate it. This problem just occured, and I am certain its operator induced. I am just looking for suggestions.
Thanks

Thanked: 13245This sometimes occurs on razors and is usually caused when your stropping..
Sometimes it can be remedied with a slight twist but do it carefully,
Another thing to check is to see if the scales themselves have shifted..
Hold the razor up, point the tail at yer nose, and sight down the razor, look to see if the scales are still level...
If not there are two ways to attempt a fix, the first is a good way to get cut so be carefull... Place the razor in the straight open position, on a hard flat surface, push the scales back to even using your thumb right at the pivot...IF YOU SLIP YOU WILL GET CUT !!!!!
Or you can tap them straight using a small ball peen hammer on the pins and very directional taps (Much harder procedure)
Good luckLast edited by gssixgun; 05-17-2010 at 01:14 PM.

Thanked: 4942Hinge pins are notorious for loosening up. As suggested, tapping with a ball peen hammer usually will get them back to tight again. Usually for alignment, after some initial tapping, you can strike the side that you want the razor to go to. Works most of the time........
If you can't figure it out, send the razor to me and I will tighten it for you at no cost.
Thanks,
Lynn

Thanks Lynn, I have only used it a handful of times, so I doubt it will need to much brute force and meanness. I will give her a few good whacks and let you know how it plays out....lol....
