you have choose tough road buying shapton 16 k.
This is what i would say.
try buy from SRD their diamond past set.
it should be 0.5 diamond and paddle strop. if you have paddle strop then just get diamond spray.
Now
hone until 8 k norton then move to 16 k but never do more then 3-6 strokes then diamond paddle strop 5 strokes check the edge not good try 5 more on diamond strop check the edge.
