personally I would wanna (which I do) shave with my straight razors during the week..so your hands and eyes seem to be more aware of whats very fragile around you..hope you follow me on this..

I had a similar thing happen long ago, and my grand-uncle's 4/8 Solingen (can't recall the brand) just flipped out of my hands for no obvious reason. Unfortunately, it hit the spout instead of the counter and shattered all but the backbone, right in the center of the blade.
