Thanked: 0Don't use shaving cream!
Is what this article claims:
The Shaving Cream Racket by Jeffrey A. Tucker
Anything correct about it? Or is this just nonsense?

Thanked: 1262Shaving cream is essentially soap when it comes down to it. Wouldnt washing your face daily have the same negative effect?
Someone should let him know they are disgusted when they see him buying razors at the drug store....

Thanked: 335I never before realized the nefarious dimensions of the insidious plot. Can I assume this involves not only the canned goop but also the squeeze tubes and screw topped jars of the stuff I love so well? Does this mean icecube facials before the Norelco run around? OMG, where will it all end?

Don't Use Shaving Cream
Ladies and gentlemen:
I don't know if Mr. Tucker speaks of shaving creams in general or specifically the goo in pressurized cans.
If he lumps together Castle Forbes, Trumper, Taylor and all the other great shave creams with the unhealthy stuff that spits out of a can, then I must shrug and find something better to read and discuss.
Regards,
Obie

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he's talking about the canned stuff; but I'm not about to adopt his idea of using oil, and then phasing it out and shaving with water only - that's a risible suggestion.

As I am a man who shower shaved for many years, using nothing but water........I call shenanigans. I'm glad that it works well for him, it didn't for me.
