    +1. If a person, even after reading this thread, is still worried about the "rounded bevel" theory, make a balsa bench strop. Works great and problem solved.

    if another shaver used more abrasive, more pressure, more actual shaving, more need of sharpening, then he may experience more rounding than Glen.

    Ultimately I do not think it matters much, as he does demonstrate that with some care the razor can be used for extended periods without complaint.

    It seems most likely the warnings against rounding have simply ballooned from an original concern by those who understood the needs of razor maintenance. That being, the various sorts of "never hone" strops cannot eliminate the need for hones as their vendors claimed at the time. (Whether or not that remains true with or current selection of abrasives on hard substrates I don't know. It doesn't concern me as it seems more trouble than its worth considering mine is sharp enough for my needs without)... well usually true
