I've twice cut my right cheek up pretty badly with the oh-so-sharp spike point of my 6/8 Wellington. I've typically shaved around the cut until it has healed, but last time I shaved right over it and opened it up again. It still hasn't fully healed. Nicks aren't much trouble for me, as I only shave every two to three days, so I just shave right over them.

    Best of luck to you.

+1 on the previous advice. When I nick myself I apply a styptic pencil, followed by some triple anitbiotic. It promotes fast healing and prevents razor bumps that you slice into later.
