I've only had my razors honed once so far (by Lynn and Bill) so when I say 10-20, it's considered as refreshing the edge with a pasted strop.

Haven't been shaving long enough to have to hone for a second time......and I have quite a few razors now....so I don't think I'll have to rehone any of them for a while....

Besides...in a Newbie forum there should be a "Haven't honed anything EVER" option I think.

I'm right there with you. My razors had their initial honing from Lynn, and after that it's been pasted strops for a little refresh when needed.

as my honing skills improve i find i can go longer and longer between honings.

i think that it all depends on several things
    1) the persons beard
    2) steel quality
    3) quality of initial honing job

On razors I use on a daily basis if not doing the 20-30 honings per week, I would get 2-3 months between touch ups. I have a fairly heavy beard and normally would shave the 5 o'clock shadow when I go out in the evening if using a DE. Lynn

I see no end in sight for my razors. I have 2 at the moment although one is on its way to me...and one is in limbo, so technically 4. At any rate I use one much more than the other because it is the razor I travel with. I have probably used it 20 times with one touch up on the pasted strop at about 12 shaves. I see no need for honing in the near future. The pasted strop seems to really refresh that edge.

Two months between honings, pasted strops in between, maybe a touchup with 8k norton if the razor begins to pull.
